Obviously, we make music. For commercial applications, mostly.
But if that’s all we did, we wouldn’t be doing
what our clients have come to expect from us. No matter what
specific service from this list we might be providing, what
we really do is solve problems. Marketing and advertising
problems. Production problems. Lack-of-focus and too-many-ideas
problems. We use our minds and our ears to create solutions
that sing.
Bring us in early and see how much Gravity can add to the
creative process.

Jim
Bordner —
Composer/Producer
After attending the Jordan College of Music at Butler University,
Jim went on the road as a solo act, playing and singing in Holiday
Inn lounges. Tired of the road, he took a temporary job as an
advertising copywriter and broadcast producer. Temporary became
nearly 15 years.
He wrote commercial music throughout his advertising career, winning
a couple of national awards in the process. From 1986 through
1989 he also worked as the founder, director and chief writer
of The Renaissance Radio Theater, winning a "Best Drama"
award at the 1988 International Radio Festival.
He opened Gravity Music in of March of 1994, moonlighting from
his agency job until January 1995, when he devoted himself to
composition and songwriting full time. Since then, he's written
jingles and show songs, and scored film and video for a wide range
of local, regional and national clients.
In addition to his commercial music work, Jim occasionally works
as a producer for singers and songwriters, and has served as a
contributing columnist for Keyboard magazine on the subject of
small studio business as well as writing the popular monthly Guest
Room Warrior column for EQ, a respected trade magazine for recording
engineers. |

Lisa
Bordner
—
Project Manager
For Lisa, writing the great American novel and
playing with Sally (the studio dog) has to take a back seat to
crunching the numbers and managing the business details. We're
pretty lucky to have her, too; she keeps the creatives from wandering
around aimlessly, saying things like: “Time sheets?
We don’t need no stinking time sheets!”
Lisa has spent 14 years in business administration and accounting
— organizing the world so that it can run a little better
and a little smoother. The past five years have been spent
at Gravity Music building on these same talents and developing
a few new ones. If there is something that needs to be tracked
or organized, Lisa is there with a smile (and coffee).
Lisa is also attending college and volunteering her talents for
the benefit of a local Senior Information Fair that she helped
create. She helps raise money for the fair, organizes
details, writes ad copy, buys media, and has even done the layout
and design of their print advertisments.
Why do these things when there are so many mountaintops to sit
upon? Here’s her favorite quote:
Ring
the bells that still will ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack in everything
That’s how the light gets in
--Leonard
Cohen

Aiden
Michael —
Marketing
Specialist/Electronic Music Composer
The combination of house DJ and marketing man
may seem unusual, but for the Gravity Music team, Aiden's skill
set is exactly what the doctor ordered. Truly the jack-of-all-trades,
Aiden wears a number of hats at Gravity. While he primarily serves
a marketing capacity, seeking out new business and designing
the majority of the company's marketing materials, his knowledge
of computers has made him our one-man IT department, keeping
our machines operating smoothly and single-handedly designing
this web site.
Additionally, his passion for electronic dance music and understanding
of music production has made him a valuable composer as well.
Aiden's slammin' drum machine loops and euro-flavored synth
programming have been ideally suited for a number of past projects.
Aiden is currently seeking his business marketing degree with
plans to pursue his MBA. He joined the staff in the summer of
2004 and will hopefully be around for some time to come. |
