OUR STUDIO
The Bridge @ Gravity Music
A room designed for hyperspeed.
Gravity’s own project studio is the model of an artist/producer’s room, refined for the demands of commercial audio production.
We record to a 2.8ghz 8-core Intel MacPro running Digital Performer 7.24, Waves plug-ins, the Native Instruments Komplete collection of softsynths and a UAD-2 plug-in system. Audio gets to the computer through an HD FireWire interface built into our new Tascam DM3200 console, which serves as both front end for the system and automated digital mixer. Audio is now digitized at 24-bit/96khz HD for the best possibly dynamic range.
Outboard gear consists of a solid collection of classic hardware synths (Kurzweil, Roland, Novation and Korg), a pair of outboard Lexicon reverbs we’ve become intimately familiar with, a good selection of dynamic, condenser and ribbon mics, and some excellent pre-amps (we're using fewer synths and more “real” instruments these days).
The 800 square foot space is divided into a control room, a live room and a vocal booth. There’s plenty of room to record a drum kit, a horn section or a group of 8 singers, while still leaving a large and comfortable client lounge in the control room. (And we serve a bottomless cup of what we believe is the best coffee in town.)
The gear is tuned to provide fast, efficient production, while the environment provides a calm, relaxing place to work. We think you’ll enjoy it here.
