OUR STUDIO
The Bridge @ Gravity Music
A room designed for hyperspeed.
Gravity’s project studio is the model of an artist/producer’s room, refined for the demands of commercial audio production and broadcast post.
We record to a 2.8ghz 8-core Intel MacPro running both MOTU's Digital Performer 8.01 and Apple's Logic Pro 9.1.7, Waves Diamond plug-ins, the Native Instruments Komplete collection of softsynths and a UAD-2 plug-in system. Audio gets to the computer through an HD FireWire interface built into a Tascam DM3200 console, which serves as both front end for the system and automated digital mixer, and is digitized at 24-bit/96khz for the best possible dynamic range.
Outboard gear consists of a solid collection of classic hardware synths (Kurzweil, Roland, Novation and Korg), a pair of outboard Lexicon reverbs we’ve become intimately familiar with, a good selection of dynamic, condenser and ribbon mics, and some excellent pre-amps. A pair of Event 20/20bas v3 monitors are used for critical listening, while a set of M-Audio AV40s provide the small speaker perspective.
The 800 square foot space is divided into a control room, a live room and a vocal booth. There’s plenty of space to record a drum kit, a horn section or a group of 8 singers, while still leaving a large and comfortable client lounge in the control room. (And we serve a bottomless cup of the best coffee in town.)
The gear is tuned to provide fast, efficient production, while the environment provides a calm, relaxing place to work. We think you’ll enjoy it here.
